There are both some similarities and differences between porcelain and ceramics. Firstly, they are both built of the same type of sand materials, which consist of clay and quartz and combined with water. Once formed, these tiles are placed in an oven at high temperatures to form a strong, smooth surface.
Porcelain tiles are very popular because of the way that they seem as clean and smooth. The high temperatures of the furnaces are the key to this influence and once they are installed on your floor, they are very easy to maintain with very little work on your part.
Porcelain tile floors can be a bit more expensive than ceramic but in the long term, will cost you less money for replacement and care of your new floor. Sometimes a little more money for an investment of good quality saves you tons of cash and headaches later. This certainly applies to the selection of tile flooring for your home. You can't just beat the elegance, strength, durability and quality of porcelain.
